According to the comparative report of the Asian and European region the cargo volume results of Europe are low as compared to the Asian results. The cargo traffic of Pudong Airport Cargo Terminal Ltd PACTL increased 6.8 percent year over year in March and it shows that the Asian region is going well. Europe is not responsible for this cargo volume decline, but the problem lies in the carriers themselves. Frankfurt, Germany is the major business hub of Lufthansa air cargo which reported the decline of 1.3 percent in the month of March.
The reason for this decline is that other carriers carried more cargo from its main hub Frankfurt as compared to Lufthansa. The cargo traffic of British Airways dropped from Heathrow because other carriers flying freight in and out of London. According to the reports the actual problem lies with the carriers themselves. The freight that they were carrying has now moved on the other airlines like AirBridge Cargo, Cargolux, Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines.
