Gwadar, jointly developed by Chinese and Pakistan engineers, lies at the merging of three of the most commercially important sections of the world, the most important cargo functional triangle in future, the oil-rich Middle East, Central Asia and South Asia.
The Chinese operators of Gwadar port said that they have been developing a systematic approach to uplift the local fishing industry both in quality and quantity. It will surely helpful to improve the region’s economy. The chairman, Zhang Baozhong, who is in charge of development and operations at Gwadar said, “The port will be in full operation by end of this year”. The grand cooperation operation between Pakistan and China is built with financial and technical assistance to develop the deep water shipping port.
With the significant investment of $46 billion, the famous Pak-China corridor which is also known as CPEC, is a package of building railroads, highways, pipelines, power plants and industrial zones. It will also be the path for Beijing by providing the access through Pakistan to the famous and global markets including Europe and Africa.
The Gwadar port is very essential for economic growth of both Pakistan and China, especially for Pakistan. The great Pakistan Military Chief, General Raheel Sharif was addressing the conference in Gwadar about the security measures there. He said, “I assure you that security of CPEC in our national undertaking and we will not leave any stone unturned. We will continue to keep a close watch at its every step. To this effect, a 15,000-strong, dedicated force is already in place under the ambit of special security Division”.
Chinese officials also admitted the efforts and steps taken by the Pakistani Army to ensure the security at Gwadar port’s development which concerns “up to a great extent.”
The cargo shipping at Gwadar port will surely rise to the heights of the moon. It will surely boost the cargo industry.
