Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd International Airport officially unveiled cargo village after three years of development process

King Fahd international airport is one of the fastest growing airports in the world. On Tuesday, the aviation authorities of Saudi Arabia have announced that the Cargo Village at the airport will handle the maximum number of air cargo flights from Middle East and other countries including Pakistan.

The Governor of the Eastern Province Prince Saud Bin Naïf was the chief guest at the launching ceremony. The President of General Authority for civil Aviation (GACA), Suleiman Abdulla Al-Hamdan and several other Royal Family members, higher authorities and executives of the several public departments were also present at the launch event of new Cargo Village.

It is not a small Cargo Village, the total estimated area of this cargo facility is over half a million square meters and it has the capacity to handle the 70 percent of goods coming from Gulf region for the kingdom. It will facilitate the cargo operations as a multi model shipment and clearance hub. It will directly serve the Eastern Province of the Saudi Kingdom.

President of General Authorities of civil aviation said that the entire KFIA management and the kingdom is pleased by watching our dream in a real form, in front of us. It is the first ever cargo village of the kingdom. Entire team at the KFIA and the Kingdom officials are hopeful that the new Cargo Village will play a vital role in the economy of the country.

This village will offer the stress-free solutions to handle the cargo operations, however it will be used as a central hub for global companies. Apart from all these benefits of the cargo village, it will also create the new opportunities for employment and economic growth for the Eastern Province.

Saudi Customs and Changi Airports International will support the KFIA in policy development, planning and implementation.

The cargo village is equipped with the world’s most advanced technologies and cargo handling facilities. It has the ability to change its capacity according to the needs. Cargo village guarantees the express cargo delivery and reduced shipping times.

The Director General of King Fahd International Airport, Engineer Yousef Al-Dhahri said that he feels pride in the launch and the village will present the Dammam, the Kingdom and the KFIA in the region. It will offer an opportunity of dynamic growth of businesses in the region.
