Etihad Air cargo has received the first delivery of the giant freighter Boeing 777. The entry of the Boeing 777 into the fleet of the Etihad Air Cargo is a very positive turn for the Etihad Airways. This delivery of the Boeing 777 will make the cargo wing of the Etihad Air cargo more strong and will be helpful in increasing the revenue of the group.
The huge Boeing 777 is the 11th freighter in the fleet of the Etihad Air Cargo which will help the Etihad Air Cargo in the commercial service. Last year in the Dubai Air Show Etihad Air Cargo announced that it would take delivery of two new carriers and they form the part of the US$67 billion fleet order that was made in the 2013. The value of these two new aircrafts is US$637 million and the second freighter is expected to reach soon in Dubai.
Etihad Air cargo will get more cargo capacity with the two new Boeing 777 freighters. These two new carriers will come equipped with nine seats and this seating plan will help the Etihad Air to carry extra space for the Sky Stables programme. This more space will be helpful in the movement of the high valued equine.
These two new aircraft will be the first in the Etihad cargo fleet to be designed with the extra cargo capacity. This Sky Stables programme is managed by skilled supervisors, supported by the both air and ground handling teams, with horses currently being moved to destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and the Americas.
According to the planning officer of the Etihad Airways these two new carriers will help the Etihad Airways in the expansion of the specialist cargo service and in the will provide more growth in the international market shares.
He further added that over the last years the Etihad air cargo has been expanding into South America, Africa and Asia and the new aircraft will boost capacity and allow the company to grow more frequency across the scheduled network, but not ably also increase the company charter opportunities to growth areas of the world. Last year, Etihad Cargo improved its international reach by offering belly hold capacity on six new destinations of Etihad Airways including Edinburgh, Madrid and Kolkatta.
